Man City are now top of the league table following their emphatic victory over Everton at Goodison park last night, taking Liverpool down the pecking order.
The fixture was the only one played on Wednesday night and it was necessary in anticipation for their upcoming League Cup final against Chelsea. Liverpool’s game at hand will come against rival, Man United at Old Trafford.
Liverpool were 10 points ahead of Man City about a month ago but are now trailing by goal difference, although they have a game at hand. Liverpool have shown sign of fatigue in their recent gamea, dropping a whooping four points in their last two games.
Liverpool were the last team to have led after the festive period that failed to win the league, the last being 2013.
