Arsenal on Fire Ahead of United Clash, City in Controversial Win


Oliver Giroud bagged a brace to help Arsenal beat stubborn Huddersfield 5-0 in Premier League on Wednesday night. Huddersfield had previously beaten Manchester United and was narrowly beaten by Manchester City last week, but was way too easy for Arsenal to deal with. An early goal by Lacazette was key in helping the Gunner find the right rhythm of the game leading to battering of poor Huddersfield. Sanchez and Ozil also got on the score sheet, preparing them well for a crunchy challenge this weekend.
Elsewhere, table topper Manchester City were involved in a controversial victory after Sterling got the winning goal six minutes after regular stoppage time in the second half against Southampton. De Bryne had put City ahead two minutes into the second half but a Romeu goal cancelled out De Bryne’s effort to put the scoreline at 1-1 fifteen minutes from time. Sterling once again stepped up to score the winning goal at the 96th minute to restore City’s 8-point lead at the top of the table.
Chelsea secured a narrow victory against Swansea at Stamford Bridge, t halfhanks to a lone Rudiger’s goal. Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte was sent to the stand by the match official for ranting in the first half but Chelsea were still able to grind out the full 3 points to keep up with the title race.
Goals from Mane and Salah (2) helped Liverpool secure a crucial 3-0 victory away at Stoke. After being left on the bench for the game against Chelsea last weekend, Mane gets on the score sheet, opening the account against Stoke 17 minutes into the first half before Salah’s second half double seal the victory.
