Chelsea Beat Liverpool to Close Gap on Tottenham
Giroud goal proved enough as Chelsea beat Liverpool to keep fight for top four finish alive. The French striker headed home a Victor Moses’ cross in the 32nd minute and Chelsea had to endure a heavy pressure in the second half to reduce Tottenham’s point to just two.
Tottenham invited Chelsea back into the race following loss to Westbrom and Chelsea had seized the opportunity to close the gap with a victory against Chelsea on Sunday. With two matches left to play, Chelsea will have to win both against Huddersfield and Newcastle respectively and hope Tottenham failed to win both. Liverpool also be in the frame of a late Champions League qualification drama if they fail to beat Brighton as they have just one match left and are just a point above Tottenham
Bakayoko plays a peach of a ball out wide to Moses who controls and drives at his defender, fakes the cross and then curls in an inviting ball which Giroud gladly nods past Karius. 1-0. #CFC pic.twitter.com/zqsLsD8JfM
