Why Chelsea Should Believe in Batschuayi Now That Morata is Out Injured

Last summer, Chelsea shelled out some cash to sign a striker believed to be in similar mould with legend Didier Drogba, and from the same club he was signed by Mourinho in 2004. Batschuayi had limited playing time under Conte last season with Diego Costa so much in form and the manager sticking to only one striker up front. This season thus far, Bats has also been limited to Cup games with his last coming from a last minute goal he scored to help Chelsea beat Atletico Madrid.
He has already 5 goals in six appearances in all competitions this season and he has never started a game for Chelsea this season. Despite his fine form, Conte refused to bring him on immediately Morata was subbed off in the 35th minute during the match against Man City over the weekend, instead he made him wait till the 72nd minute when Bakayoko was subbed off. It means Chelsea were with a main striker on the pitch for more than 30 minutes.
Having shown so much improvement in his performance from last season, it’s time Conte start believing in the striker’s ability. Morata is confirmed to be out for the next 6 weeks and apparently, Batsman is the next striker option for Chelsea. Conte needs to believe in his striker unless he wants to play next 6 fixtures without a main man
