Chelsea Held Arsenal, No Welcome Party for Rooney at Old Trafford – Video
Chelsea and Arsenal played out a boring 0-0 draw in the early hour of Sunday Premier League match day. Sanchez and Hazard came off the bench for Arsenal and Chelsea respectively but the latter only came close when he drove in a superb shot which was well dealt with by Petr Cech.
Ramsey came close in the first half when he moved past 2 players to hit a low shot which could only hit the wood work but Lacazette failed to score from the rebound, driving the ball wide off the post. Arsenal had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half while a late drama saw David Luiz sent off for a clumsy challenge on Kolasinac. The match ended 0-0
Later in the evening, Manchester United continue their good run in the Premier League, beating Everton 4-0 with Lukaku also getting on the scoresheet. Manchester United get off a good start when Valencia drove in a superb volley from the outside box from a Matic’s pass to put United ahead in the 4th minute. Everton fought hard but could only come close with De Gea busy keeping the ball out. Rooney almost scored but he was later subbed off in the second half after which Man United went on to score three more goals.
It was an emotional day for Rooney who spent glorious 13 years at Manchester United, receiving a very warm reception and he was given a standing ovation as he leaves the playing pitch. Man United remains second behind City on the table. City remains top for scoring more goals. They both tally with 13 goal difference
