Confused Chelsea in for 2.01m Tall Peter Crouch
Antonio Conte must be the most frustrated manager in Premier League at the moment after Chelsea management failed to match bid for his prime target this January. The latest player in Chelsea’s transfer frame is former Liverpool striker, Peter Crouch. Chelsea were the first to show interest in Manchester United bound Alexis Sanchez last summer but could not compete with the financial tussle of both Manchester clubs. Aside that, there are other targets such as Alex Sandro of Juventus who Conte sees as a long term rival to Alonso. But, Abrahamovic is not willing to spend big on players during the winter.
Although, they recently bought Barkley from Everton and Conte confirmed in an interview that Barkley was not his transfer wish. Having lost out in the battle to sign Sanchez, Chelsea were linked with Westham striker, Andy Caroll, another tall striker, which shows Chelsea are in for a target man. The search for a target man may suggest Chelsea are on the verge of changing their playing style or rather preparing a plan B should in case Morata fails to deliver.
