Great! the International break is gone and the long wait for another Premier League weekend is over. We take a look at this weekend’s fixtures, the records, the stats and likeliest outcomes.
Manchester City vs Liverpool
After battering Arsenal two weeks ago, Liverpool’s confidence are on the rise. The manager Jurgen Klopp has built on the much desired attack that scored so many goals last season, now becoming devastating, destroying Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield in last EPL game. Man City on the other hand, are not having a bad run either but are apparently struggling with form.
Run of Form
– Liverpool are undefeated in their last 7 matches.
– Manchester City are undefeated in their last 11 matches.
– Manchester City scored at least one goal in their last 8 matches and Liverpool in their last 5 matches.
Head to Head
For the past five Premier League matches between these two teams, Liverpool have come out triumphant, winning four matches and one draw. The last match being the 1-1 draw played at Etihad stadium last season.
Overall, Liverpool has an edge over Man City. As expected, Liverpool will go all out attack, Guardiola may be forced to play a more conservative style in order to avoid conceding.
Livepool are expected to keep the winning team from the Arsenal man while Man City will need to play Aguero up front with Raheem Sterling sent off in the last match.
Chamberlain is in line to make his Liverpool debut but may come from the bench
