FA Cup! Man United Dumped Arsenal as Ole Winning Streak Continues

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer maintained his winning start as Man United’s caretaker manager after beating Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup at the Emirate on Friday night.

The team is gradually returning to what the club is known for under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson after taking their winning streak to eight out of eight in all competition since Solskjaer took over.

The manager demonstrated what he has always stressed about the quality of attack in his possession by starting Sanchez and Lukaku while leaving first team players such as Martial and Rashford on the bench. Meanwhile, Arsenal fielded their three best attackers in Iwobi, Lacazette and Aubamayang in a 4-3-3 system which was prevalent in Emery’s system.

Man United led 2-1 through the way to half time courtesy of two brilliant assists from Lukaku, converted by Sanchez who rounded Cech before slotting home the first goal after receiving a dummy pass from Lukaku and Lingard scoring the second goal few minutes later.

Aubamayang provided Arsenal with a lifeline after pulling one back two minutes before half time but substitute Martial dented their hope of comeback after scoring the winning goal from a rebound to dump Arsenal out of the FA Cup
