Chelsea fans might be sounding a sigh of relief at the news of the impending departure of Brazilian winger, Willian away from Stamford Bridge as PSG considers signing him before the window closes in the midnight.
Willian has been the major scapegoat as Chelsea struggled to keep the hope of reaching a Champions League spot this season. Chelsea suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth last night and fans had criticized manager, Sarri for keeping wantaway and youngster Hudson Odoi in the bench while Willian whose performance has not been pleasing in the eyes of the fans gets a nod.
Willian’s agent is in Paris awaiting word from Chelsea on whether his client can complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain, reports say. The Chelsea forward is set to be the subject of a transfer deadline day bid from the French champions. PSG are desperate to sign a replacement for the injured Neymar, who is set to miss the next ten weeks of action.
Brazilian outlet UOL claim Willian’s team is in Paris poised to spring into action if PSG come to an agreement with Chelsea. Willian has already snubbed moves to Barcelona and China this month, as Chelsea did not want to lose the 30-year-old. Maurizio Sarri has complained about needing reinforcements and the Chelsea manager will not want to sell one of his best attackers without a replacement.
PSG believe an offer in the region of £35million might be enough to tempt Willian away from Stamford Bridge. The French side think Chelsea could be persuaded to offload the Brazilian considering he is the final 18 months of his current contract. But Willian has already dismissed recent transfer talk, insisting his ‘future is at Chelsea’ after scoring in the Blues’ 2-1 win over Newcastle earlier this month.
