Man City Beat Arsenal to Extend Lead at the Top of Premier League

Man City continue their unbeaten run in Premier League following a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Etihad stadium of Sunday afternoon. De Bryne opened the scoring with a fine left-footed shot right from the edge of the box to give the host a lead in the 16th minute of the first half. Aguero doubled the lead through a penalty after Monreal fell Raheem Sterling right inside the Arsenal box just five minutes into the second half. Lacazette pulled one back for Arsenal shortly after he was brought on to replace Coquelin, but a controversial goal from Gabriel Jesus sealed a 2 goal lead for Guardiola’s men.
Man City had come into the game as the favourite maintaining his winning line up spearheaded by Sergio Aguero with Sane and Raheem Sterling on the wings. Arsenal made some changes from his Europa league team but left summer signing, Lacazette on bench with Iwobi starting alongside Sanchez and Ozil.
With Arsenal poor form, more questions are raised about the future and commitment of star duo, Sanchez and Ozil. The former being a target for today’s opposition had initially revealed that he had no intention extending his contract which would end by the end of the season. Arsenal might consider selling in January if they don’t want to risk letting him go for free,
