Man United Back to Winning Ways, Liverpool Escape Late Scare

Manchester United have begun their 2018 campaign with a 2-0 win away at Everton, thanks to goals from Martial and Lingard. Man United have failed to win their last three Premier League games, having drawn against Leicester , Burnley and Southampton which made them drop from second to third position on the table.United were without injured Lukaku and Mourinho opted to start Martial in place of out-of-form England striker, Rashford.
Martial proved Mourinho right with his selection ahead of Rashford after scoring the opening goal from a curled shot after receiving a pass from Pogba just outside Everton’s box. Lingard continued his fine form with a fine solo goal to seal an important win for United. With the result, Man United are back in second position while they hope Arsenal take points off Chelsea when the meet at the Emirate on Wednesday
Earlier in the day, Liverpool narrowly escaped Burnley’s threat after Klavan’s late goal seal a win for the Merseysiders. Liverpool were without injured Salah and Coutinho but Mane stepped into the shoe well after scoring Liverpool’s opening goal of the match. But the game could have ended as draw after Burnley equalized in the 84th minute before Klavan powered home a header to give Liverpool a narrow victory.
