Manchester United have won their first three Champions League group stage game this season after winning 1-0 away at Benfica. Rashford scored the winning goal from a long range free-kick, similar to that of Ronaldinho against England in 2002 World cup. It was a mixed feeling for Manchester United fans as Rashford was later hobbed off the pitc after picking up a knock towards the final third of the game
It has been a while since Manchester United have looked like a dominant side in the Champions League, but under Jose Mourinho they could finally be returning to those heights.
And it was the first time they achieved that perfect beginning since Sir Alex Ferguson led the club to a three-win start in the Champions League group stage in the 2012-13 season — his final campaign.
Chelsea were denied an opportunity to extend their perfect Champions League start after they were being denied by defiant Roma at Stamford Bridge. Hazard and Dzeko were stars of the match as they both grabbed 2 goals each. Chelsea were already 2 goals up after Luiz and Hazard nopened the scoring in the 11th and 23rd minutes respectively but Roma replied with three goals with Kolarov and Dzeko (2) responding for the visitors. Hazard saved Chelsea night in the 75th minutes heading home a cross from Pedro.
