The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be facing Argentina at the FIFA World Cup in Russia later this month. Argentina and Super Eagles have faced off in FIFA competition on a number of occasion, and the familiarity had spelled some memorable events. Nigeria, Argentina rivalry.

The first meeting was in USA 94, Claudio Caniggia was the hero as Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1 in an eventful match. Caniggia cancelled out a Samson Siasia’s early opener before scoring the winning goal minutes later.
